The work presents an overview of time-independent constitutive theories for cyclic plasticity and time-dependent theories for visco-plasticity. Further, the main constitutive elasto-visco-plastic theories are introduced in order to arrive at the description of Chaboche elasto-visco-plastic constitutive laws. These laws represent the base of the modern models for the analyses of the material performance.
