In this paper, we report on the development of GPU-based fast and fast factorized backprojection algorithms implemented in CUDA language. Such algorithms exploit the standard backprojection approach, developed by the same authors, presented at ACES2011, and based on the use of 1D Non-Uniform FFT (NUFFT) routines presented to obtain the lowest level sub-images. The performance of both the algorithms is analyzed when bilinear and bicubic interpolations are employed to upsample the sub-images from coarser to finer grids.

Abstract

In this paper, we report on the development of GPU-based fast and fast factorized backprojection algorithms implemented in CUDA language. Such algorithms exploit the standard backprojection approach, developed by the same authors, presented at ACES2011, and based on the use of 1D Non-Uniform FFT (NUFFT) routines presented to obtain the lowest level sub-images. The performance of both the algorithms is analyzed when bilinear and bicubic interpolations are employed to upsample the sub-images from coarser to finer grids.
