Risorse paesaggistiche per lo sviluppo sostenibile della Penisola Sorrentina

Abstract Bearing in itself the marks left by human groups in the various and successive processes of settlement, the landscape can be defined as "a cultural complex" in which the combination of nature and culture, if subject to appropriate planning policies, can be a valuable tool sustainability. The paper aims to show how the economic and functional area of the Sorrento Peninsula has imprinted profound changes to the landscape, albeit with the necessary distinctions between inland areas and the coast and between Sorrento and Amalfi side. The final hypothesis is to identify the most appropriate spatial strategies to the enhancement of natural and cultural heritage of the area for the achievement of sustainability goals
