The article is concerned about the exam papers of 85 graduates in psychology who, after one year of post-graduate training, have been faced with a clinical case. The case in question has a story of domestic violence as its backdrop. Thus the candidates have been asked to describe their reflections upon the clinical story and to propose the most considered suitable treatment while highlighting the reasons and the purposes behind such choices. The content analysis of the compositions showed how the violence experienced within the examined family, and in particular by the mother and her sons, has been neglected in interpreting the assigned clinical case.
