Abstract

Standard economic theory appears increasingly inadequate to explain the reasons for which higher incomes are not associated with greater well-being in most developed countries. The cause of this difficulty is due to a vision of Homo economicus without coordinates social and is revealed in the existence of three paradoxes: the paradox of happiness; the paradox of trust; the paradox of common goods In the paper, starting with the new concepts of relational goods, micro-credit and capital, which are new areas of research in which economic theory is enriched by social aspects, we affirm the need for an epistemological review of economic science, especially at the macroeconomic level.
