Three new norditerpenes (I, II, and III) were isolated from the Mediterranean sponge S. gracilis and their structures were detd. by spectroscopic and chem. evidences. The structures of II and III are strictly related to gracilin A, a previously isolated norditerpene from the same source, whereas spongionellin (I), possesses a new carbocyclic skeleton. The biogenesis of norditerpenes from S. gracilis is briefly discussed.
