Two other infrastructural items, the Circumvesuviana railway and the Salerno ??? Reggio Calabria highway joined the Via Regia delle Calabrie and the Napoli-Portici railway on this thick and long territory. Three different infrastructures almost indifferent to original places armony as been putted in this valuable and really dangerous two kilometers thick area. In particular the railways are on the same plane of the architectonic buildings breaking the relations order with the landscape with their insurmountable barriers. So this territory organized on a sign???s weft that from the Vesuvius to the sea showed the direction of the water ways and even the fire???s ones, has been transformed into parallel lines to the sea, neared and inclosed among infrastructural barrier???s walls. After what has been said is recognizable the Herculaneum???s great value by territorial and environmental point of view. In fact the urban installation is indissolubly linked with Miglio D???Oro and Vesuvian villas system in connection with the Vesuvius directrices. Lost the originary equilibrium on territorial scale of Miglio d???Oro (Golden Mile) and Ville Vesuviane (Vesuvian Villas) system, what remains is a congested built at very high mean density, territorial and environmental havoc???s fruit, that finds in the railway line crossing,passively undergone by territory, a point of caesura between litoral and built-up area. The relationship between full and empty and the ???empty system??? has been irreparably replaced year after year by a pretty total buildings making until the congestion. The only way to come in is to invert the process of degrade making new relations and contemporary uses and restoring old territorial relations and plots minding new necessities and new territory uses. In particular great attention is paid to green historic areas to improve their identification in comparison with actual state and to promote compatible and endurable uses, since rediscovery and exploitation of Miglio d???Oro (Golden Mile) and Ville Vesuviane (Vesuvian Villas) system, as exceptions of a built system that year by year placed itself above in a brutal way. The Vulcan???s city idea aims at joining all the elements of such as system naturalistic, historical and contemporary.
