The CUB model is a mixture distribution recently proposed in literature for modelling ordinal data. Although various methodological aspects concerning CUB models have been investigated, extensions are still needed in order to represent multivariate ordinal data. In this article we propose to use the Plackett's distribution in order to model correlated ordinal data with CUB margins. We examine both the methodological and computational issues. The proposed technique is verified by a simulation study.

Abstract

The CUB model is a mixture distribution recently proposed in literature for modelling ordinal data. Although various methodological aspects concerning CUB models have been investigated, extensions are still needed in order to represent multivariate ordinal data. In this article we propose to use the Plackett's distribution in order to model correlated ordinal data with CUB margins. We examine both the methodological and computational issues. The proposed technique is verified by a simulation study.
