This paper aims at defining a procedure to evaluate achievable user savings, in terms of generalized cost, due to complete knowledge, in real time, of the public transport system situation prior to undertaking or during a trip. The user saving are evaluated by formalizing two different models which estimate user lost time in a scenario with no information available as to transport system characteristics, compared with a scenario in which information availability enables the user to choose the best route in terms of travel time, comfort, etc.

Abstract
This paper aims at defining a procedure to evaluate achievable user savings, in terms of generalized cost, due to complete knowledge, in real time, of the public transport system situation prior to undertaking or during a trip. The user saving are evaluated by formalizing two different models which estimate user lost time in a scenario with no information available as to transport system characteristics, compared with a scenario in which information availability enables the user to choose the best route in terms of travel time, comfort, etc.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
