The structure was solved by direct methods and refined to an R value of 0.045 for the 886 reflexions. The amide bond is in the trans conformation. The peptide occurs in conformation F*, with tp = 74 ° and qt = -158 °. An extensive network of intermolecular hydrogen bonds holds the crystal together in the solid state.
