A solar assisted heat pump pilot plant for air conditioning of three offices and a laboratory is presented. Ambient air and water from a solar storage are the lower sources of the two parallel evaporators heat pump. Both metal and rubber water collectors are used by turns and solar energy is stored in two reservoirs at different temperatures. The components, the winter configurations (direct solar heating, water to air heat pump, air to air heat pump), the quantities to be measured for evaluating the energy savings are then described. Finally the experimental apparatus is briefly shown.

Abstract

A solar assisted heat pump pilot plant for air conditioning of three offices and a laboratory is presented. Ambient air and water from a solar storage are the lower sources of the two parallel evaporators heat pump. Both metal and rubber water collectors are used by turns and solar energy is stored in two reservoirs at different temperatures. The components, the winter configurations (direct solar heating, water to air heat pump, air to air heat pump), the quantities to be measured for evaluating the energy savings are then described. Finally the experimental apparatus is briefly shown.
