The novel polyhydroxylated sterol cholest-5-ene-2a,3a,7P,15P,18-pentol2,7,15,18-tetraacetate (1) was isolated in very small amounts from the marine hydroid Eudendrium glomeratum. Its stereostructure was established through extensive 'H NMR, 13C NMR, and MS studies and chemical evidence.
