The problem of determining the shape of buried objects for multifrequency plane wave incidence in a 2D geometry is dealt with. The problem is tackled by searching for the support of the currents induced on the contour of the objects, is formulated as the inversion of the linear operator arising from the application of the Kirchhoff approximation and is solved by means of the Singular Value Decomposition approach. The presented numerical results show the effectiveness of the proposed inversion algorithm.

Abstract

The problem of determining the shape of buried objects for multifrequency plane wave incidence in a 2D geometry is dealt with. The problem is tackled by searching for the support of the currents induced on the contour of the objects, is formulated as the inversion of the linear operator arising from the application of the Kirchhoff approximation and is solved by means of the Singular Value Decomposition approach. The presented numerical results show the effectiveness of the proposed inversion algorithm.
