Diffusion coeffs. in the ternary system α-cyclodextrin (at one concn.)-L-phenylalanine (at four concns.)-water have been measured by using the Bouy interferometric technique. The effect of the inclusion equil. on the cross-term diffusion coeffs. was obsd. The measured diffusion coeffs. in the ternary systems were used to calc. values of the binding consts. These values are in good agreement with the value obtained from calorimetric studies.
