Experimental investigation on standing magnetoelastic waves evidences local magnetization inhomogeneities. Output signal dependence on static magnetization of the whole sample is well known, but the effect of a magnetization variation, produced in a little portion of the sample, is poorly known. We show that the amplitude of the longitudinal waves is very sensitive to the local change of magnetization, therefore, it is a good parameter for application in devices to control the magnetic field uniformity and/or its constancy.

Abstract

Experimental investigation on standing magnetoelastic waves evidences local magnetization inhomogeneities. Output signal dependence on static magnetization of the whole sample is well known, but the effect of a magnetization variation, produced in a little portion of the sample, is poorly known. We show that the amplitude of the longitudinal waves is very sensitive to the local change of magnetization, therefore, it is a good parameter for application in devices to control the magnetic field uniformity and/or its constancy.
