From the theme to thematic session: we saw the changeover from the general matter to the questions of the call for paper, as a chance to think about a really democratic way to built a scientific community. The basic moment of this democratic process was the blog that was developed on the Eurau website from the 7th March – 22nd May 2009. After this date, the seven arguments was at everybody‟s disposal as basic material to better understand and interpret the questions of call for paper. Since the beginning the blog tried to define clearly the question: beauty is a dominant character of contemporary society an it imposes exact model, but while these models are really clear concerning fashion, design or human aesthetic norms, the concept of beauty about architecture is less defined: How beauty? And above all who for? The other arguments developed on the blog from March to May, have been introduced by six post: -Is "spectacular architecture" democratic? -Venustas / architecture market democracy: Which role for the schools of architecture? -Is there venustas in Gibellina? -Two opinions about Beauty in Architecture -Democratic beauty and variety Declensions for concept of beauty. Shapes of democracy. Organizations of markets. The seven posts establish relations between theoretical questions and current events ( the debate about competitions and spectacular architecture, the reconstruction of L‟Aquila after the earthquake) and they try to deepen some arguments coming out from the previous debate. This paper reconstruct a dialogue in the distance that, crossing the seven arguments, try to give an organic picture of the principle questions coming out from the blog.
