The paper reports the first observation of the metabolic activation in vitro of 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane (HCFC-141b) by phenobarbital- and pyridine-induced rat liver microsomal cytochrome P-450 showing a potential for HCFC-141b to become activated also in vivo, potentially resulting in human toxicity, an observation already made for HCFC-123.
