The objective of this work is to estimate throw the static theorem of limit analysis the safety of a masonry dome subjected to own weight and to horizontal increasing loads, discretized in rigid blocks of variable shape aligned along the parallels and the meridians. The yield domain conditions for the quadrilateral faces of blocks are expressed in terms of stress resultants, in observance of the following mechanical features: unlimited compressive strength, inability to carry tension, sliding with dilatancy.
