This paper deals with the restoration of the historical timber roofing structures of the Diplomatic Hall of the Royal Palace of Naples. Firstly the structural identification of the timber members of the complex structure is carried out, based on the detailed geometrical and mechanical surveys and on the numerical analyses of the 'ad hoc' set up structural models. Therefore, the designed retrofitting intervention is illustrated.
