The study regards the analysis of sustainability of biofuels production by autotrophic microalgae. The analysis has been based on approximated cost-estimation methods supported by data taken from the open literature and referred both to technical and economic aspects of the process. The objective functions used for process optimization have been estimated with reference to a plant based on 1 km2 harvesting area. Possible scenarios for the industrial success of the process are presented.

Abstract
The study regards the analysis of sustainability of biofuels production by autotrophic microalgae. The analysis has been based on approximated cost-estimation methods supported by data taken from the open literature and referred both to technical and economic aspects of the process. The objective functions used for process optimization have been estimated with reference to a plant based on 1 km2 harvesting area. Possible scenarios for the industrial success of the process are presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
