Abstract
Recently R. Fosdick and J. Serrin [Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 59 (1975), no. 2, 97--109; MR0386477 (52 #7331)] showed that, starting with the known heat-transfer inequality, $h·n (\theta^i-\theta^e)\geq 0$, some thermodynamical results due to C. Truesdell for homogeneous processes are valid for nonhomogeneous processes. We prove that the same extension can be attained, even without the heat-transfer inequality, for every thermodynamical system that is part of a larger continuum.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
