A theoretical model for the analysis of a wet electrostatic scrubber, WES, is reported. The model indicates that the WES systems allow a significant increase of the collection efficiency for submicronic particles respect to classical water scrubbers. The effect of the main process parameters on the collection efficiency is analyzed in order to define preliminary criteria for the design and operation of WES.

Abstract

A theoretical model for the analysis of a wet electrostatic scrubber, WES, is reported. The model indicates that the WES systems allow a significant increase of the collection efficiency for submicronic particles respect to classical water scrubbers. The effect of the main process parameters on the collection efficiency is analyzed in order to define preliminary criteria for the design and operation of WES.
