This paper describes a goat serum antigen (A2) located on a lipoprotein molecule. This antigen is inherited in a simple Mendelian manner and the gene controlling its synthesis is allelic to the one controlling the synthesis of A1, another lipoprotein determinant. In the heterozygous animal the two determinants reside on distinct molecules. This system, by comprising two codominant alleles, is particularly suitable for the solution of disputed parentage cases and the understanding of lipoprotein biosynthesis and structure.

Abstract
This paper describes a goat serum antigen (A2) located on a lipoprotein molecule. This antigen is inherited in a simple Mendelian manner and the gene controlling its synthesis is allelic to the one controlling the synthesis of A1, another lipoprotein determinant. In the heterozygous animal the two determinants reside on distinct molecules. This system, by comprising two codominant alleles, is particularly suitable for the solution of disputed parentage cases and the understanding of lipoprotein biosynthesis and structure.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
