Some applications of a stochastic assignment model for the evaluation of parking policies

In the paper a model is proposed (as well as applied to a real-size test-network) for the evaluation and design of parking policies. The demand-side model explicitly simulates users' choices related to path, parking type and parking location; these choices are simulated through a Probit-type discrete-choice model. Users are divided into market-segments defined by the O/D pair, the departur4 time, the trip purpose and the desired parking duration. The supply-side of the model extends the usual road network model in order to include different parking types and pedestrian links; capacity functions able to evaluate delay due to parking-space searching are also developed. The demand/supply interaction is modelled as a Stochastic User Equilibrium with multilpe users' categories.
