A simple synthetic strategy was developed to prepare amphiphilic biodegradable poly(ether-ester)s based in PCL ann PEO, which contain along the chain pendant amino groups available for attachment of aminoacid sequences. -OH terminated PCL macromers with one Z-protected pendant-NH2 group per chain were prepared by ROP of caprolactone using a novel diamino functionalized initiator based on L-Lysine and were chain extended with -COCl terminated PEO. Deprotection of NH2 groups did not cause chain cleavage.

Abstract

A simple synthetic strategy was developed to prepare amphiphilic biodegradable poly(ether-ester)s based in PCL ann PEO, which contain along the chain pendant amino groups available for attachment of aminoacid sequences. -OH terminated PCL macromers with one Z-protected pendant-NH2 group per chain were prepared by ROP of caprolactone using a novel diamino functionalized initiator based on L-Lysine and were chain extended with -COCl terminated PEO. Deprotection of NH2 groups did not cause chain cleavage.
