Data from 5 buffalo farms in the Campania region have been registered and incidence of "suckling vice" in lactating buffalo cows has been studied. A surgical treatment has been tried on the animals affected by technopaty for at least two years. The highest incidence has been registered in animals of 3-4 years old. Surgical treatment resulted a good alternative (66% of positive results) compared to nose ring systems.
