We analyze the field equations for a homogeneous, isotropic and spatially flat cosmological model with torsion and cosmological constant Lambda in presence of a classical massless and free scalar field non-minimally coupled with the scalar curvature. We then present a solution of such equations considering small values of the non-minimal coupling parameter and Lambda = 0. This solution shows a singularity depending on the initial conditions of the time derivative of the scalar field and it is little influenced by torsion. We also find an expression of the variation in time of the effective gravitational constant.

Abstract

We analyze the field equations for a homogeneous, isotropic and spatially flat cosmological model with torsion and cosmological constant Lambda in presence of a classical massless and free scalar field non-minimally coupled with the scalar curvature. We then present a solution of such equations considering small values of the non-minimal coupling parameter and Lambda = 0. This solution shows a singularity depending on the initial conditions of the time derivative of the scalar field and it is little influenced by torsion. We also find an expression of the variation in time of the effective gravitational constant.
