Using the 'generalized Clebsch representation' for the velocity field of a fluid in the Eulerian description, we find an action principle for the equation of the Newtonian cosmology. The invariance group of the equation results a generalization of the Heckmann-Schuking group; we study, in this case, the action and the conserved currents.

Abstract
