Joint equalisation and narrowband interference suppression in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems are considered. Since the conventional zero-forcing receiver does not operate satisfactorily in interference-limited environments, the potential of the MMSE receiver is investigated, and the advantage gained by exploiting the redundancy contained in the cyclic prefix is evaluated.
