This paper elaborates on two-years research done under the Sufalnet project in the field of redevelopment of former and abandoned landfill. Sufalnet (Sustainable Use of Former and Abandoned Landfills Network) is an EU part financed project (INTERREG IIIC) that aims to identify and bring together expertise and best practice and promote joint development of policy programmes available in Europe on redevelopment and aftercare of landfills, so that closed landfills might finally be dealt with. This contribute gives back the progress of the cooperation experience focusing on the proposal of a model strategy that could drive public and private sectors toward a successful re-use that enhances environment and creates job opportunities for local communities. In the frame of Sufalnet objectives, model strategy has been identified as a logical approach to the complexity of redevelopment plan, a sort of common minimum denominator of the decision process that facilitates a better assessment of the re-use feasibility.

Abstract
In the frame of Sufalnet objectives, model strategy has been identified as a logical approach to the complexity of redevelopment plan, a sort of common minimum denominator of the decision process that facilitates a better assessment of the re-use feasibility.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
