The purpose of this paper is to directly verify that a water stream flowing in a channel coming out from a tank through a rectangular orifice, really is a turbulent boundary layer. Experimental measurements were carried in such a device, measuring local mean velocities using an LDA system. Suitable comparisons of the data show through four different criteria that the generated current can be considered a boundary layer.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to directly verify that a water stream flowing in a channel coming out from a tank through a rectangular orifice, really is a turbulent boundary layer. Experimental measurements were carried in such a device, measuring local mean velocities using an LDA system. Suitable comparisons of the data show through four different criteria that the generated current can be considered a boundary layer.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
