The present paper is concerned with the experimental and numerical investigation on built-up cold-formed steel members. It comes within a general research project carried out at the University of Naples which is focused on the study of innovative members called MLC beams. The experimental investigation, performed through bending tests on full-scale prototypes, has been carried out according to the design assisted by testing method as provided by the European code on cold-formed steel structures, allowing the influence of several behavioural parameters in such kind of beams to be evaluated. In particular, the obtained results have pointed out the role played by the spacing of connections on local buckling of the compression flange of the beams, providing also useful data for the calibration of a finite element model which will be employed in designing MLC members.
