The paper presents a decisional procedure for the management of industrial wastes, and shows its application to a case study. The decisional procedure is based essentially on economic criteria, even if environmental exigencies are not neglected. The management is intended at regional scale, and includes all choices related to collection, treatment and disposal. The industrial waste treatment and disposal system is depicted using a network made of nodes and lines, thus obtaining a mathematical formulation of the decisional procedure simple to apply, which gives easily assimilated results that facilitate management choices. The application of the model to a case study allows not only to calculate the capacity required far each of the waste treatment chosen in the planning phase, but also to estimate the environmental cost of waste disposal minimization
