The Democratic Republic of Congo, endowed with abundant subsoil resources—including cobalt and coltan essential for the digital transition—remains the stage for one of the bloodiest and most overlooked conflicts since World War II. In the eastern regions, armed groups compete for control of mining areas, fueling violence, corruption, and mass displacement, causing millions of deaths amid near-total silence from the institutional and media spheres of the international community. Geopolitical interests tied to strategic minerals for technology and the energy transition perpetuate the crisis and exacerbate instability, while UN MONUSCO mission has proven to be a costly failure. This situation will not change without greater information and a new approach to international cooperation with the DRC and the entire African continent.

Abstract
This situation will not change without greater information and a new approach to international cooperation with the DRC and the entire African continent.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
