The structural shortage of healthcare professionals represents a major threat to the sustainability of the Italian National Health Service, with significant implications for quality of care, professional well-being, and organizational resilience. In this context, organizational literature highlights how the imbalance between job demands and available resources, as described by the Job Demands-Resources Model, is a key driver of burnout and reduced work engagement. This study examines the role of organizational and digital levers in strengthening employee engagement within territorial healthcare systems. It presents an applied intervention developed in a Local Health Authority characterized by high organizational complexity and geographical dispersion, based on the implementation of a corporate intranet platform designed as an organizational welfare tool. The platform integrates internal communication, employee services, and participatory spaces, aiming to enhance job resources, foster a sense of belonging, and support organizational resilience. Expected outcomes include improved organizational climate, increased engagement, stronger team collaboration, and greater sustainability of healthcare work. The experience provides insights for human resource governance in public healthcare and for the adoption of organizational models oriented toward workforce well-being and quality of care.

Abstract
The experience provides insights for human resource governance in public healthcare and for the adoption of organizational models oriented toward workforce well-being and quality of care.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
