La macchina mutevole e l’uomo. A margine dell’Enciclica Magnifica Humanitas

This essay examines the anthropological implications of artificial intelligence through a critical engagement with Magnifica Humanitas. Starting from a secular and co-evolutionary understanding of Sapiens, it argues that AI cannot be reduced to a neutral tool, since its architectures, datasets, metrics, and infrastructures actively shape visibility, decision-making, responsibility, and power. The essay situates this transformation within the Digiticene, an onto-technological condition in which datification, predictive systems, and SmartEcoSystems reshape human experience, attention, and judgment. Against both technological idolatry and nostalgic rejection, it claims that the question of AI is ultimately a question about forms of life, requiring literacy, institutional accountability, and a renewed ecology of attention.
