Paper’s aim is to present the preliminary results of the archaeological map of Medma, sub-colony of Locri, archaeological site now in the territory of Reggio Calabria (Italy). The research, carried out through the remotely and proximately sensed data analysis, is devoted at the systematic reassesment of archaeological legacy data with the historical photographs, satellite images and photogrammetric footage from UAVs in order to reconstruct, as far as possible, the urban topography of Medma. In deed, the available knowledge on the ancient polis is constituted by disiecta membra, mainly portions of the urban plan, residential areas, sacred areas and necropoleis dating to the Classical and Hellenistic ages. In a GIS environment, the sys- tematic digitization and georeferencing process will allow to analyse the total amount of archaeological data available on Medma: for the understanding of its urban planning, problems addressed in this pa- per are the shape and size of the blocks, the extension of the built-up area and the topo graphical consistency of the city walls.

Abstract
In a GIS environment, the sys- tematic digitization and georeferencing process will allow to analyse the total amount of archaeological data available on Medma: for the understanding of its urban planning, problems addressed in this pa- per are the shape and size of the blocks, the extension of the built-up area and the topo graphical consistency of the city walls.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
