The longitudinal dynamics of high-energy charged-particle beams was investigated. The investigations were carried out within the framework of thermal wave model. The model includes the nonlinear self-consistent interaction between the beam and its surroundings in terms of coupling impedance. It was found that the evolution equation becomes a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation when resistive as well as reactive parts were included.

Abstract
The longitudinal dynamics of high-energy charged-particle beams was investigated. The investigations were carried out within the framework of thermal wave model. The model includes the nonlinear self-consistent interaction between the beam and its surroundings in terms of coupling impedance. It was found that the evolution equation becomes a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation when resistive as well as reactive parts were included.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
