This and subsequent contributions report on the work and results developed by the au- thors within the framework of the PRIN 2022 PNRR project, ‘Mapping the New Spatial Inequalities within Southern European Cities’. Despite the heterogeneity of approaches and research tools employed, the paper argues that a consistent working methodology has emerged, driven by the recognition of the inadequacy of data and mapping, and the need for knowledge and policies to combat urban inequalities. In an attempt to outline suggestions for research and intervention strategies, this paper compares the limita- tions of debates on research methodologies and available public policies, with a view to opening a new era of urban policies aimed at combatting inequalities.

Abstract
This and subsequent contributions report on the work and results developed by the au- thors within the framework of the PRIN 2022 PNRR project, ‘Mapping the New Spatial Inequalities within Southern European Cities’. Despite the heterogeneity of approaches and research tools employed, the paper argues that a consistent working methodology has emerged, driven by the recognition of the inadequacy of data and mapping, and the need for knowledge and policies to combat urban inequalities. In an attempt to outline suggestions for research and intervention strategies, this paper compares the limita- tions of debates on research methodologies and available public policies, with a view to opening a new era of urban policies aimed at combatting inequalities.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
