La forza dei luoghi. Traiettorie biografiche e orizzonti di attesa di giovani imprenditori del Nord e del Mezzogiorno

After a long period in which the processes of transformation that have affected Western societies and the resulting climate of social uncertainty have led Italian sociology to devote scant attention to the future, in recent years the time to come has again become a focus of sociological reflection. In order to contribute to the ongoing debate, this article, on the basis of 40 biographical interviews collected in four metropolitan areas (Milan, Naples, Cagliari, and Cosenza), aims to describe the life trajectories and the horizons of expectation of young entrepreneurs from the North and the South. In the light of the territorial divide that characterise our country, it is shown how the imagination of the future is closely linked to the life context and local culture.
