The Role of Social Capital on the Performance of Public Administrations

The article shows how to improve the performance of public agencies through the integration of social capital. It attempts to fill a gap in the literature of the potential of social capital and how different public policies might interact with it. The work’s originality lies in further clarifying how a social capital approach to public policies should work in practice. Thanks to the availability of unpublished data, it allows one to evaluate the applicative possibilities in the planning and evaluation of public safety policies improving public administration goals.
