In the current times of global crisis and political tensions, many scholars (Maksimovic et al. 2022; Rahim 2018; Sánchez-Castillo 2024) underline the necessity to integrate peace education in class. This study tries to further examine the relationship between peace and language by exploring tech-based pedagogical practices which can help educators and students to become peaceful language users. In particular, drawing on Peace Linguistics studies (Gomes de Matos 2000, 2014) and multimodal literacies (Archer 2017; Walsh 2010), a video-based class experiment was conducted between September and December 2023 aiming at investigating how ESL university students can learn to use multimodal communicative tools to foster a culture of peace and promote a responsible use of language to mitigate conflicts and build peaceful relations within and outside educational environments.
