Geografie diseguali dell’abitare: piattaforme digitali e spazi di estrazione della rendita urbana in Il presente e la città, tra inclusione, diritti e conflitti / The Present and the City: Between Inclusion, Rights, and Conflicts

The paper traces, through the geographies of the Airbnb platform, the production of spaces that are simultaneously objects of extraction and agents of expulsion: on the one hand, the commodification of housing, in terms of the use of urban property, extensively defines the spaces of rent extraction; on the other hand, these same logics produce geographies of social exclusion through the denial of housing affordability as a fundamental right.
