The perception of sound and its visual representation constitute a complex interdisciplinary field involving biological, cognitive, and cultural interactions. This study explores the relationship between sound and image through an experimental approach that translates audio inputs into dynamic visual forms using digital tools. Historical perspectives on the visualization of sound, from Pythagoras’ harmonic ratios to Chladni’s acoustic figures, provide a foundation for understanding the interplay between sound waves and material structures. Building on this, the research presents a computational methodology employing Rhinoceros and Grasshopper, integrating the Firefly plugin to process sound characteristics — such as intensity and frequency — into geometric transformations. The algorithm dynamically generates visual patterns in response to real-time audio variations, enabling an evolving representation of sound. The study highlights the potential of this approach in expanding artistic expression, offering a framework for interdisciplinary applications that bridge music, design, and technology. This research underscores how digital visualization techniques can enhance our perception of sound, opening new avenues for artistic and scientific exploration.
