The current shortage of surveys and tools aimed at investigating the microclimatic relation between indoor and outdoor space, also considering current climate changes and their impact on the urban built environment, has prompted our research to define a methodology that, making use of appropriate information technology tools and the interoperability of their outputs, ensure a simultaneous monitoring between different software environments and the determination of the quantitative and qualitative impact that the outdoor environmental conditions produce on the indoor comfort. The case studies of the Duchesca district and the “Kimbo” building in Mancini street in Naples were the subjects of the application of the defined methodology based on a simulative apparatus of climate adaptive design strategies and solutions for the redevelopment of buildings and urban open spaces.

Abstract
The current shortage of surveys and tools aimed at investigating the microclimatic relation between indoor and outdoor space, also considering current climate changes and their impact on the urban built environment, has prompted our research to define a methodology that, making use of appropriate information technology tools and the interoperability of their outputs, ensure a simultaneous monitoring between different software environments and the determination of the quantitative and qualitative impact that the outdoor environmental conditions produce on the indoor comfort. The case studies of the Duchesca district and the “Kimbo” building in Mancini street in Naples were the subjects of the application of the defined methodology based on a simulative apparatus of climate adaptive design strategies and solutions for the redevelopment of buildings and urban open spaces.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
