Abstract

Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) concerns with a fluid which is immersed and moves in a magnetic field. Accounting for the Lorentz force rise up actions between the fluid and the magnetic field: the fluid velocity influences the magnetic field and viceversa. In the absence of magnetic field, if one would obtain oscillatory convection, it is necessary to generalize Darcy equation on including the Vadasz inertia term. The increasing interest towards new porous materials and the onset of oscillatory convection (e.g. mushy layer in solidification of binary alloys), causes a great attention to a generalized Darcy law which includes the time-derivative term, which is tyhe Vadasz inertia term.
