Abstract

In the contemporary scenario of turbulent cultural and societal change, the preservation of historic urban landscape authenticity introduces an approach based on values acknowledgement and adoption (Unesco, 2011). Within the Programme FARO (Financing for Starting Searches Originals 2012-2014) and the Project Cilento LabScape, the RRM lab, University of Naples Federico II, worked on research activities aimed at testing, for the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano (Southern Italy), an integrated model capable of filling the gap between places and end users. A Living Lab focused on the shared management of the transformation occurring in buildings' elements and units of the landscape. The paper describes the experimental activity for Sassano Municipality. Rethinking management procedures and priorities, is one answer to prevent the consequences of identity loss. Working in a design perspective on the dynamics of interactions between people and places, has a big impact on the vulnerability of settlements.
