Abstract

The text explains the architectures built in Naples during the Age of Enlightenment that Giuseppe Galasso defined “the most beautiful age”. The famous Map by Giovanni Carafa, duca di Noja, fixes the formal and spatial structure of buildings and the city. Among the others, the Albergo dei Poveri and Granili’s building emerge, both underlining the entrance to the capital city, to the north and to the east. However the Cemetery of 366 graves is the work that represents the true meaning of the Enlightenment modernising thought in Naples.
