One of the most complex issues during a hypersonic Plasma Wind Tunnel test is to control the high heat flow and towel as measure the thermal protection system surface temperature, that can reach up to 3000 °C. It is reported in the following a CIRA laboratory experimental result that has demonstrated the availability to realize temperature surfaces measurements with the new method measurement technique of the two-color thermography with the twocolor thermography: a technique based on multispectral IR radiation measurements. To perform this experimental verification, a temperature of steel plate heated by means ceramic heating device was carried out by means FLIR camera SC5000, previously calibrated using a blackbody device emitter for three band pass filters of 3.80 3.90 and 3.97 μm, respectively. This thermal camera is provided of a drum that can accommodate up to 4 filters and it can switch from one filter to another by in tenth of a second. The surface plate temperature measured by IR camera by means two narrow spectral band filters have been compared with ones measured by four K-type thermocouples positioned around the area focused by IR camera The results have shown that this innovative measurement technique allows to measure the surface temperature with a relative uncertainty lower than 4- 5%, moreover every dependence by the emissivity has been eliminated.

Abstract
The surface plate temperature measured by IR camera by means two narrow spectral band filters have been compared with ones measured by four K-type thermocouples positioned around the area focused by IR camera The results have shown that this innovative measurement technique allows to measure the surface temperature with a relative uncertainty lower than 4- 5%, moreover every dependence by the emissivity has been eliminated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
