A new digital signal-processing method for instantaneous frequency measurement of signals generated by wireless digital communication systems is proposed in the paper. It exploits the Warblet transform, and it is mainly addressed to multicomponent signals whose instantaneous frequency trajectories are periodic and do not overlap, such those involved in main telecommunications systems. Optimal choice of transform parameters is pursued; spectral analysis of a rough estimate of the instantaneous frequency, preliminary attended is performed to the purpose. It is so possible to grant finer resolution and better accuracy than those granted by other solutions already presented in literature. Several experiments on both emulated and actual signals assess efficacy and reliability of the method.
